PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Dith Tina, has said that he hopes to make the Royal University of Agriculture a leading university in the region and the country in the future.

Speaking at a meeting with the director board of the Royal University of Agriculture on Wednesday morning, 7 December 2022, Minister Dith Tina stated that he wants the Royal University of Agriculture to become a leading university in the country and the region in the near future, by adding subjects such as English, IT, management, and accounting as a foundation for students to develop higher-level skills.

The Minister said that agriculture is a wide-ranging sector and that training human resources is important and necessary for the agricultural sector in Cambodia to grow.

To achieve this goal, he suggested applying related theories into the actual working environment. He also encouraged the university board to think about sustainability and financial autonomy so that they could provide quality education to students.

Minister Dith Tina said he hopes that in the coming years, students from the Royal University of Agriculture will become key human resources for companies. At the same time, he also hope that the Royal University of Agriculture will attract the attendance of outstanding students, including students with disabilities.

The Royal University of Agriculture has nine undergraduate programs: Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Forest Science, Fisheries Science, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Economy and Rural Development, Agro-Industry, Land Management and Administration.
